On Valentine’s Day of this year, our friend, legal eagle Angela Bosworth, became Angela Preston when she married her man August, a fiction writer, in an unplanned ceremony at the Franklin County Court House. We love the story of a wedding on a whim, and we REALLY love that the blushing bride wore a dress she found last year at Spring Flea (long before she and the mister fell onto each other’s radar, thanks to the arrow of OK Cupid).
She found the vintage silk brocade party dress (in winter wedding white, as luck would have it) on a small rack in Wholly Craft’s booth at the Flea. Maybe she’d wear it to a party or out with the ladies? Who knew? She liked it, she bought it . . . but didn’t wear it for months and considered giving it up to Goodwill. But something kept telling her to hang onto it a little longer. And it’s a mighty good thing she did, because there it was in a pinch on her wedding day.
Destiny? We like to think so.
Angela styled it with some tall black boots and a big ol’ Lucite cuff, and we must say, it looked pretty perfect (pictures below, c/o Mrs. Preston, herself).
So, to the happy couple, we wish you lots of love and luck. And to you all, we wish you happy hunting at the upcoming Spring Flea on Sunday, May 5th!
